About Us

My name is Michael Burgess, I am the owner of M.D.B. Construction, and I would like to personally welcome you to my web site. I started this company in 1986 as a continuation of a father and son business, and I am proud to say I come from the “old school of business”; meaning customer satisfaction is my #1 priority. In a technologically advanced society like today’s, it is a pleasure to be able to perform basic wood skills like mitering mouldings, or fabricating cabinetry, with your own personal touches. We are proficient at all phases of construction, from the ground up, and have been using the same subcontractors for many years. This allows us to manage both large, and small projects with minimal disturbances, or problems that are typical with construction.

MDB is a full service construction company, which means we can do it all, from construction management of large projects, to small handyman type services such as door repairs or window replacements. We have kept in step with the changing times by specializing in today’s needs. We have done several F.A.L.A. (family assisted living arrangements).

We can provide on-line cost analysis of your project simply by having you supply us with the necessary details so you don’t waste a lot of time in a bidding process for a project that is out of budget. Usually we can analyze your project, and help you to find the necessary cost cutting so as to still complete your project. Do you need more office space but are on a limited budget, send us your floor plan for space analysis, maybe we can create just what you need with some simple wall and door changes. Are your kids pushing you out your home? MDB does room additions of all kinds and shapes created within your budget. Maybe that unfinished basement is just the recreation room you always wanted. 	Linda Herland - Office Manager I have been an executive secretary & office manager for 25+ years. Of all the different businesses I have worked for, I prefer the “hectic” world of the building trade. I perform a myriad of duties within the company including, scheduling free estimates, book- keeping, pricing & tracking orders, & trouble shooting. My favorite part of the job is working hand in hand with the homeowners to ensure their particular project runs smooth & stress free. When I am not at work, I enjoy various hobbies and interests with my 13 year old daughter.
	Clifford Pote - Carpenter - Nickname “Skip” I have been in the construction field for over 18 yrs. My specialties include laying carpet, vinyl tiling & wallpapering. I am an avid hunter & fisherman and enjoy spending time with my family.
	Scott Morgan - Lead Carpenter I have been in the construction field for 20 years. I have also spent several years in the 12 volt automotive industry. My specialties include dormers additions, hardwood floors, ceramic tiling, and customer satisfaction. My hobbies include recreational power boating as well as snow skiing.

	Ubu - Crew Mascot & Beloved Family Dog I am a boxer mix, and former “stray”. I made my home with the MDB family in Oct. of 2001 when it was my good fortune to stumble upon the MDB crew at a job site in Danvers. I was only 2 months old when Mike took me under his wing and made me a permanent member of his family as well as his company. My specialties include guarding Linda & the shop while Mike is out estimating, and providing love and companionship to everyone, (but our mailman)…….
